Ahhh I love my particular flavor of dyslexia. When I first saw your post I would have sworn it said "raining cats and hippies."

Game was great gang. 8 of us showed up and we gave Hills "loyalty pellets" senerio a try. It was great and much fun was had by all I know that the last year or so has been a drag, economically, but things will turn around ladies and gentlemen, have no fear of that.

This forus is not dead and neither is airsofting in juneau. We had a game just yesterday, point in fact. A game which, mind you, was advertised on this site.
Airsofting and paintballing in juneau have merely taken a downturn due to the global economic situation. As that situation recovers, so will arisofting in juneau. Keep the faith.

actually, the definition of a firearm is a bit more stringent than that. A projectile being propelled by powder is not the distinction. Black powder weapons are not legally considered as firearms anywhere in the United States and as such are even legal for convicted felons to own. BB guns are not considered firearms within the city and borough of Juneau, however, discretion is called for in their use. Airsoft guns, being what they are make police very nervous and have on several occasions throughout the states been the cause of accidental shootings by the police.
As far as them being illegal even where you play, that depends on where that is. If you are referring to the lemon creek battelfield, you are quite mistaken. Within the CBJ, you may discharge any firearm so long as you are at least 1/4 mile from the road system, 1/4 mile from houses and back in the woods. I used the lemon creek battlefield area as a rilfe range for more than 20 years without incident.
Mind you, I find news of airsoft players using a public playground for their activities appalling. I had hoped that our members would show better judgment than that, regardless of what one uninformed police officer had said. The main reason primary activities had been moved to lemon creek from dredge lake was the proximity of dredge to innocent bystanders. All it will take is one noncom to get hit and we will have a lawsuit on our hands. If this happens, the city council CAN AND WILL outlaw airsoft in Juneau altogether. Never for a second think that this can't happen. All it takes is one idiot to screw it up for everyone.

Saturdays are good for me but Id need a way to get me, my gear and my family to the site. Sundays MIGHT work as the rest of the family are in church, but I know that doesnt work for other people for much the same reason.
